AI/ML are complex computer tasks that lend themselves perfectly to blockchain's distributed nature. Complex tasks can be distributed on many machines, returned in fragments, and the machines doing the fragmented calculations can get rewarded in coins. See Siacoin (which uses this principle to reward disk space hosting), Filecoin (which promises to do the same), Storj (same), iExec which does this for CPU power, Golem which does this for GPU rendering, and more. In the same vein, AI/ML tasks could get distributed onto thousands of machines, rewarding them with tokens for their work. The only limit is the complexity of your task, and its divisibility into millions of little sub-tasks.
